Buddha Shakyamuni or Akshobhya, the Buddha of the East, Tibet, 11th–12th century © The Metropolitan Museum of ArtFilm: The Path to Wisdom: Continuing the teachings of Theravada monk, Ajahn Sumedho, we will be showing a talk given in 2017 at Amaravati Buddhist Monastery, Hemel Hempstead.

Amongst other things, Ajahn Sumedho focuses on the simple reality of the here and now, and the awareness of ‘just this’, where all thoughts and concepts drop away in favour of insight and understanding. He speaks of the path of wisdom being the realisation that suffering, or unsatisfactoriness, is not the ultimate truth, but has a cause, and because there is a cause, there is a way beyond suffering.

The film runs for approximately one hour and will be followed by discussion and tea. All Welcome.
