The Body: A Dhamma Talk by Bhante Bodhidhamma:
Sunday 19th May (3.00-5.00pm)

The afternoon will start with a short meditation followed by a dhamma talk, a question and answer session, and tea.

Everyone welcome.

In 1986 Bhante Bodhidhamma was ordained into the Theravada tradition, and in 2007 he set up the Satipanya Buddhist Centre in Wales, where he now conducts vipassana insight meditation retreats in the tradition of Mahasi Sayadaw of Burma.

The Buddha sits in meditation, his hands in dhyana mudra. His facial type, with arched brows and light highlights, is linked to the painting style of Kizil.

Most Buddhas from Dandan-Uiliq known from painting and sculpture wear red robes.

A group of related votive images painted on wood panels was recovered in the Buddhist temples at Dandan-Uiliq.
