Open Afternoon Thursday 4th July (2.00-3.30pm):

Ringu Tulku RinpocheFilm: Ringu Tulku Rinpoche, a Tibetan master of the Kagyu Order, gives a series of talks about living and dying. In this, the first talk in the series, he refers to preparing to die, and that preparing to die is the same as preparing to live.

He then focuses on the fears that we have on different levels, which, he says, is something for us to work on. To see through these fears, he says, is by understanding the true nature of the mind, and that ‘what we are is like the cosmos’.

Later, he describes in some detail the transitional states (the intermediate bardo states) from one life to the next, a teaching that seems to be specific to Tibetan Buddhism.

Ringu Tulku speaks very good English in a down-to-earth way, making the teachings as clear as possible to his audience.

The film runs for approximately ninety minutes and will be followed by tea.

All welcome.
