Open Afternoon Thursday 1st August (2.00-3.30pm)

Bhante BodhidhammaBuddhist Film: A talk given by Bhante Bodhidhamma at the Golden Buddha Centre in May of this year, entitled The Body.

Bhante Bodhidhamma explains how the Buddha taught that awareness is the way of seeing the reality of what we are and finding liberation from suffering. First, through the contemplation of the body, then the contemplation of thoughts, feelings, and concepts, step by step he takes us through the process of realising intuitively that we are more than mind and body.

He elucidates the Buddha’s teaching in a very clear, and humorous way.

[In 1986 Bhante Bodhidhamma was ordained into the Theravada tradition, and in 2007 set up the Satipanya Buddhist Centre in Wales where he now conducts vipassana insight meditation retreats in the tradition of Mahasi Sayadaw of Burma.]

The film runs for approximately fifty minutes and will be followed by tea.

All welcome.
