Consciousness is Immeasurable, by Ajahn Sumedho

Ajahn Sumedho 2006

Film: Consciousness is Immeasurable: Continuing the teachings of Ajahn Sumedho from a series of talks given in 2017 at Amaravati Buddhist Monastery.

Ajahn Sumedho puts the question: ‘Is consciousness the deathless?’ and he goes on to observe that consciousness is immeasurable and indescribable, and yet does not come and go: ‘It is,’ he says, ‘here and now.’ He encourages us to see clearly that all thoughts arise and cease, and to realise that we cannot, therefore, trust them as a means of enlightenment.

Ajahn Sumedho, as always, goes directly to the central point of the Buddha’s teaching. The film runs for approximately one hour.

Shown on the open Afternoon Thursday 7th June 2018
